Cosmetic Injectable Fillers in Memphis, TN
There’s a complex network of structural elements in your skin that keep it looking firm, smooth, and youthful. These important components—collagen, hyaluronic acid (HA), and elastin, namely—combine to create a soft, healthy foundation for your skin. As you age, these structural proteins and building blocks are produced less by your body and begin to break down. Can you guess the result? Unevenly textured skin and the birth of wrinkles on your face and other areas of the body are the unfortunate byproduct of this natural process of aging.
At The Langsdon Clinic, nestled in the heart of old Germantown, TN on the southeast side of Memphis, we are passionate about helping our patients age more gracefully with the help of cosmetic injectable fillers (lip fillers, Botox, tear trough injections, liquid facelift). Your face is the centerpiece of nearly all the interactions you’ll ever have with other people, and our team of injectable dermal filler experts can help you put your best face forward every time. We offer the most advanced cosmetic injectable fillers administered in a safe, comfortable setting with Nurse Practitioner Carol Langsdon, RNP, BSN, an expert in facial aesthetics.

What Are Cosmetic Injectable Fillers?
As you get older, the most visible signs of aging will likely appear on your face. As your face loses its natural healthy volume, things like depressions on your cheeks, wrinkles, crow’s feet, and frown lines inevitably show up. With every passing year, your body breaks down and produces less of the important elements it needs to look youthful, vibrant, and smooth. That’s where dermal fillers come into play.
Injectable fillers, commonly called soft-tissue fillers, face fillers, or dermal fillers, are a quick, safe, convenient way to increase facial volume while also increasing collagen and elastin production naturally. Dermal fillers are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and are primarily made of three basic ingredients:
- Biosynthetic polymer
- Collagen
- Hyaluronic acid (HA)
Although injectables are a low-risk, non-surgical procedure, you should choose an experienced professional to help you map out your treatment plan and schedule for the best results. In the United States, the only people who can administer injectable treatments are licensed medical professionals such as physicians, nurses (many of whom take additional training or earn special certifications), and physician assistants. Rest assured that you’ll be in good hands at The Langsdon Clinic. Nurse Practitioner Carol Langsdon RNP, BSN, is our advanced nurse injector and oversees our aesthetic treatments, including Botox®, dermal fillers, and many other advanced skin care treatments.

What Can Be Treated with Cosmetic Injectables?
Cosmetic injectables are a minimally invasive way to shape and sculpt the contours of your face by adding volume and filling in areas where structural proteins and subcutaneous fat has been lost. In addition to adding volume, injectables can also often help the skin accumulate and retain moisture so it keeps looking healthy and vibrant. In general, cosmetic injectables and fillers are used by physicians and aesthetic professionals to:
- Add volume to areas where there are facial depressions
- Smooth out wrinkles by increasing volume, collagen, and elastin
- Fill out thin, flat lips
- Reduce the appearance of certain types of scarring
- Improve the appearance of frown lines
- Smooth out crow’s feet
- Help even out skin texture from acne scarring
Some patients choose to have cosmetic injectables as a standalone treatment, while some patients choose to add cosmetic injectables to a more complete facial rejuvenation plan. The convenience, versatility, and long-lasting results of injectables make them a popular choice for our patients.

Cosmetic Injectables We Specialize In
Technically not a dermal filler, Botox® Cosmetic is an injectable used to treat forehead lines, crow’s feet, frown lines, and lines that form between your eyebrows. It works by targeting the muscles responsible for causing these unsightly facial lines.
One of the industry’s newer and most popular dermal fillers, Juvéderm®‘s primary active ingredient is hyaluronic acid (HA). This substance is naturally found in your body and helps keep your skin hydrated while also adding volume to targeted areas. Many patients will notice results from Juvéderm® right away with results that may last up to a year. Our practice also carries the Voluma™ XC, Vollure™ XC, and Volbella™ XC injectable products from Juvéderm®.
At The Langsdon Clinic, we specialize in the Refyne, Defyne, Lyft, and Silk Restylane® fillers. Restylane® is made of hyaluronic acid and works well to fix moderate to severe wrinkles and folds. The results of Restylane® typically last about 6-12 months before additional treatments may be needed.
We use Scultpra® at The Langsdon Clinic to promote collagen growth safely and naturally. This cosmetic injectable is made of poly-L-lactic acid and can be used to treat deep signs of aging such as folds and wrinkles. Sculptra® results are long lasting and may last up to two years before additional treatments are needed.
This cosmetic injectable may be used on the face and other areas of the body such as the hands. Its primary active ingredient is a calcium-based substance called calcium hydroxylapetite (CaHa), which is similar to the calcium found in your body’s teeth and bones. It’s one of our leading choices for shaping contours of your face and may produce results that last about 9-15 months.
This popular injectable filler can be used to fill in deep wrinkles, lines, and folds on your face. It uses hyaluronic acid (HA) to increase skin moisture, add depth, and keep your skin looking natural and healthy. Belotero® immediately smooths skin after your treatment, with results lasting about 6 months or more.

Memphis Cosmetic Injectable Fillers FAQs
When administered with skill by an experienced medical practitioner, injection placement and filler amounts are precisely calibrated to create subtle, natural-looking results. Your most important decision in having injectable filler treatment is to choose a skilled practitioner—someone with the medical background to administer the injections safely and extensive experience in providing cosmetic injectable treatments. Take a look at our Before and After Photo gallery to see real patient results at The Langsdon Clinic.
Before your treatment, we’ll clean the area and may numb it with a topical anesthetic. Your practitioner will then very precisely inject closely calibrated quantities of filler in the sites to be treated, often making several injections to ensure the filler is evenly distributed for natural-looking results. Most filler treatments take about 15 to 30 minutes. After treatment, you’ll be free to resume your normal activities.
We use very fine needles for cosmetic filler injections, and many fillers are formulated with lidocaine (a numbing agent), so most patients don’t find the treatment painful. You may feel a slight pinch with the injections, and perhaps a mild stinging or burning sensation. The treatments last only a few minutes, so any discomfort you may feel is over quickly. We can use a topical anesthetic, or numbing spray, to make the treatments more comfortable if this is a concern for you.
Many patients see results immediately after treatment is finished. The initial results will improve slightly over the next 3 to 4 weeks as the filler integrates with your skin and your tissue begins to produce more collagen.
There’s no downtime after treatment with dermal fillers. You can go straight back to work or resume your normal activities. You may experience some minor bruising, swelling, or redness at the injection sites. This lasts no more than a few days. If any discoloration is visible, it can easily be concealed with makeup. The risk of swelling can be reduced by applying ice for 15 to 20 minutes immediately after treatment.
The results of a filler treatment usually last for 6 to 12 months, depending on the type of filler used, the area treated, and your metabolism. Some treatments (especially treatments with Sculptra®) may last as long as two years.
If you like the results of your dermal filler treatment, you can extend them by getting refresher treatments when they begin to fade. The timing of that will vary from patient to patient, and with the type of filler used.
Men can and do get dermal filler treatments for many of the same reasons women do: to look younger and more attractive and to reduce the appearance of certain kinds of scars. Dermal fillers can also be used to make a man’s face look more masculine by giving greater definition to the cheeks or jawline.
Botox® smooths facial lines by relaxing specific expression muscles. Dermal filler injections smooth facial wrinkles and creases by adding volume to the middle layers of the skin below them. Dermal fillers can improve your appearance in other ways, too. They can add volume to the cheeks or hollowed areas below the eyes, for example.
Yes. Dermal filler treatments can be combined with other facial rejuvenation treatments. Botox® injections can smooth facial lines and wrinkles that are caused by the contraction of expression muscles. Chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing, and intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments can smooth and refresh your complexion and correct areas of uneven pigmentation. Injectable fillers can also be used to enhance the results of a surgical facial rejuvenation procedure, such as a facelift, eyebrow lift, or eyelid surgery.
Injectable fillers work by replenishing the structural elements of your skin that diminish with age. They add volume to areas where fat and collagen have decreased, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and lines, and improving skin texture.
Yes, injectable fillers are generally safe when administered by a qualified and experienced medical professional. They are FDA-approved and have a low risk of complications. However, it is crucial to choose a skilled injector to minimize risks and achieve optimal results.
The injectable filler procedure typically takes between 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated and the type of filler used. It is generally a quick and minimally invasive process.
Most patients experience minimal downtime after injectable filler treatments. You may experience some swelling, bruising, or redness, but these effects usually resolve within a few days. Most people can return to their normal activities immediately.
Common side effects include temporary swelling, bruising, and redness at the injection site. These side effects are typically mild and resolve on their own. Rare complications can occur, so it is important to follow post-treatment care instructions.
The choice of filler depends on the specific concerns you want to address, such as volume loss, wrinkle depth, or lip enhancement. During your consultation, your provider will assess your needs and recommend the most suitable filler based on your goals and facial anatomy.
